Some of the wines we stock have received prestigious awards such as the Carmin De Peumo. This wine was, in 2012, voted as the world’s best Camenere. This honor adds to Carmin De Peumo’s other historic achievements in the celebrated wine critic Robert Parkers The Wine Advocate where it earned the highest score for a Chilean wine three times – 97 points for the 2003 and 2005 vintages and 96 points for the 2007. This accomplishment puts Carmin De Peumo in a place of honor in the wine industry affirming the Camenere variety and making Carmin one of the top wines in the world.
Boschendal wines have not been an exception in international wine recognition. The 1685 Shiraz 2009 was, in 2012, honored with a Gold Medal by the Old Mutual Wine Trophy Show and the Cecil John Reserve Shiraz was awarded with a Silver Medal.
One of the greatest pleasures of wine is that the more you learn and are exposed to it, the better it gets. Your confidence grows and you are soon able to compare wines from different countries, regions, producers, vintages and grape varieties. We believe wine should be kept simple, be fun and affordable so that all can enjoy it whatever their age or position.
The Wine Shop has become a permanent and appreciated presence at most social and cultural events in Lusaka and Zambia offering wine tasting and promoting the culture of drinking wine.
