Spice, black raspberry, licorice and earthy scents lead to a medium/full bodied wine with soft textures and a long, round, ripe black cherry filled finish.
Chianti Contea di Lucca DOCG 2011
A very easy-drinking, great value Tuscan blend, soft and fresh on the palate with succulent ripe cherry fruit and an appealing aroma of violet. Sangiovese (85%), Canaiolo and Malvasia del Chianti, from the province of Siena.
Lacoste-Borie, Pauillac 2009
Classic, elegant Pauillac with lovely black and red fruit flavours, persistent and long, with ripe tannins and great balance. This is the second wine of Grand Puy Lacoste.
2009 Pitchfork Shiraz
Ripe dark berry aromas with hints of violets. The palate is lively and fresh with very good depth of lingering flavours supported by a fine tannin structure. This wine punches well above its weight. Excellent Value!
POUILLY FUME VILLA PAULUS
This is a stunning example of Pouilly-Fume and another clear demonstration of the difference between the old-world and the new. Aromas combine grapefruit and herbal notes but it’s not aggressive like so many modern examples of Sauvignon Blanc. Light and fresh on the palate, displaying a good balance of sweetness vs. acidity; paired beautifully with the diver sea scallops and Goat’s cheese brulee.
